That's great increase. I tried to google for any results coming straight from the users and nothing so promising.
For the price and 27hp+ I would for sure take it.
27hp is a lot. Even for 500hp set up.

The problem for most of us is we had it fitted at the same time as the stage 3 map so you cant tell if its this or something else making the power etc. I can only agree with @Perfect_g comment

But I can honestly say it is ridiculously fast. Besides Revo’s general indication of 450-510 hp I have no idea what power it is putting down, but it was pushing 384 hp and 465 nm with the stage 1 Revo map and it is in no way comparable...

And it is fine just driving around in comfort mode or cruising on the motorway giving back very reasonable fuel consumption.

I meant dyno charts in general, not only revo s3.
There are tons of stage 3 mqbs and hard to find confirmation that this mod coming from any manufacturer (cts, neuspeed etc) gives such increases. I need to spend some more time on it.

Thank you :)

I am most definitely enjoying it but I am looking forward to warmer temperatures, less rain and more sticky summer tires... The car is really fun but at the same time impressively composed. The way it gathers speed is ridiculous but at the same time there is very little drama to it - it just goes like h...

I just raised a question on the Revo site but the pipework also has a Water Meth bung so you can easily install one of these systems.

Not yet found a benefit to it (I was told its only for hot countries with poor quality fuel) but I have just seen an Audi with it fitted so asked what is the benefit.

Wondering how the fuel economy is impacted by the upgrade?

So far it seems it really is not affected in the daily commute or when cruising along. The new engine has done 2,700 km now and the first 1,500 km was hardly economical with varying rpm’s, loads etc. and the remaining 1,200 km has been way more “spirited” than they would normally be.

The average consumption is 10,2 l/100 km. That is more or less on par with what I normally achieved before in the long term, without any autobahn driving.

On a 80 km drive yesterday with 99 % being highway with 130-150 km/t on the cruise control it did 9 l/100 km. That actually seems to be better than it was before

I have many work related trips to Germany and the first of them is tomorrow, with 200 km. on autobahn tomorrow evening and again the day after. About half of that stretch is without restrictions and the 160 km. I do before I reach Germany is normally done with 130-160 km/t on the cruise control. I used to see consumption figures between 14 and 18 l/100 km before, mainly depending on traffic and hence how much of the trip is completed above 250 km/t. It will be interesting to see what the figure will be now.

I am still on my winter tires so I am limited to 270 km/t - the top speed run will as a consequence have to wait to next time..

It’s been quite awhile since my last update, but a lot happened..

On my first trip to Germany the engine ate itself again. It had nothing to do with the tuning - it turned out that one of the injectors has clamped up and melted the piston...apparently the same was the reason my engine failed the first time, but as the injectors performed fine when tested it was initially not diagnosed. Sitting around on the shoulder of the Autobahn is not a pleasant experience....

Had the engine rebuild and the injectors changed and after 450 km a strange ticking started to come from the engine. Apparently something went wrong in the rebuild... As a consequence yet another new VW engine straight of the assembly line was dropped in and I had it build back to standard.

Did the brake-in with everything being standard and had the Revo parts mounted again and thoroughly tested on the dyno and on the road, with Revo confirming that the logs were good. Been running 4.000 km since including three autobahn trips and is only having minor glitches that we are trying to sort out.

At really high rpm and high load (5/6 gear above 6,600 rpm.) it has misfired a few times and as well on a few highway runs just sitting at the cruise control at 130-160 km/t. The spark plugs will be changed from NGK R7437-9 to R7438-9 next week to see it that cures it - fingers crossed. Other that that it shifted extremely hard when in D between 3,000 and 4,000 rpm. but a resetting of the dsg helped a lot on that.

On the trips to Germany it was a quite amazing drive. On of my colleagues drove some of the way last time and he runs an S6 himself and his brother runs an rs6 - which he is borrowing from time to time. His reaction when flooring it in a no speed limit zone was “this is ******* insane, it just keeps on no matter the speed”..

All in all it’s been a quite bumpy road getting here but the reward is on the other hand....unique is probably the best way to describe it.

Forgot to mention the fuel consumption- on the Germany trips it improved compared to stock and stage 1. The last two trips showed between 11 and 12 L. per 100 km.

Pity to do it twice :( I know how expensive that is.
I had the same issue and got "like new" s3 djhb engine to replace my original one.
Rebuild made no sense given that it could end up like yours. Something could give up. Unopened engine is always the best unless you aim for power that needs forging (which is not my case).
Bran new dealer engine had crazy price and I was lucky to find a recovered stolen s3 that they managed to strip only from the interior, brake and wheels.
I got the engine at awesome price so it was quick decision to make.

Agree the engine pricing if bought from a VAG dealer is unreasonable. I found the new VW engine at one of the suppliers in Germany at a lot less, but it was that which the faulty injectors “ate”..it was then rebuild, but apparently something went wrong so got a brand new engine for the second time - which is the one that I am running now.

Installed the R7438-9 spark plugs yesterday and it seems that it cured the misfire issue and that it pulled the timing a few degrees on cylinder 3 before. Surprisingly it seems that the engine is running smoother in general with the R7438-9 than with the R7437-9 spark plugs.

I have put 5,500 km on the new engine now and averaged 10.1L/100 km including running it in and two trips to Germany. That equals what I averaged before but considering the two trips to Germany it is actually an improvement compared to standard and stage 1
