Do you realise how much of a geek you sound? sorry mate but if you can tell different beemers by there exhaust you need to get a life or a lass.

Debadging is all about cleaning up the look of the car and its down to personal taste Ive took mine off and i think it looks much better. I might only have a reference sport but im not ashamed of it its been mapped, tweaked and pushing 200bhp so would leave a standard FR plus its just a run around.

And if your trying to impress a lass which are they going to be most impressed by a Seat or a BMW?? Not trying to make you look bad mate just pointing out the facts :p

thats class haha:clap:

Can I also say that id never take the TDI badges off my car.. Im proud to drive an FR TDI !

Even more proud when it leaves many 'quick' petrol cars for dust.

just thought I'd share my opinion with y'all seeing as there are so many diferent ones. .

and it really is amazing how different people see things, like those who like the black seat badge . . . :ban:

with regards to peopel saying that "you only debadge if you're ashamed of the bottom of the range model" haha. that's funny seeing as people are talking about taking LEON off which, surely every leon is a leon isn't it?? (i know cupras say cupra) but anyway, by takin leon of, it's definitely not to hide anything.

I personally think that without the Leon it doesn't look TOO bad, but I prefer it with it on, especially with FR next to it.

I think the FR on it's own looks CACK, and when I saw the black "S" badge, I kid you not, I was almost sick! . . . and to top it off with the lexarse lights, stick some massive red thin plastic mud flaps on and you're on for a winner!! lol

the only thing I would do, and have done, is put FR badges under the side repeaters, it really finishes the car off in my opinion.

and for the guy who said he's proud of his TDI . . . ME TOO :D I love love love it and how much pull it has, and did consider putting TDI there instead of FR. but when they come out of the factory, they can come without any badge, with TDI or with FR, and in my opinion, the FR just looks the DON.

I'm not ashamed of having a Leon, I took the badge off as I feel it looks cleaner, & its a dam sight easier to wax with no badges to move around.

I left the FR on just so people know its an FR, not a cupra or any other version & mine didnt have any TDi badges on it from new & feel the repeater badges look a bit cheesy.

As regards to the Black S badges, each to their own, I had the same on my old mk4 golf, & will no doubt have the same on my next car if its possible.

I've debadged my boot lid & also on my previous car (Skoda Fabia vRS).

It's down to personal preference really. I like the clean, uncluttered look. And, as mentioned, it's easier to clean & wax.

De badging the back of the Leon looks rubbish, it makes the back look too fat.

Anyway I am selling my Curpa and getting a FR because its a nightmare to clean round all 5 letters on the tailgate rather than 4!!

Its so annoying, ripping my cleaning rags, can't polish it properly or get the polish off blah, blah, blah!!:lol:

i'd have to agree with the maintenance side of debadging. Definitely much easier to wash and wax without the badges.
I'm tempted to debadge mine for this reason and take all the badges off. the FR badge is especially bad when washing as wax because of its shape.
