Been a while since Ive had to post on here. Basically was driving pulled up at a car park when the engine just cut out. Started the car back up but as soon as I pressed down on the accelerator pedal the engine would cut out again. Managed to coast it into a parking bay for further inspection.

As you can see its lost oil somewhere. Fortunately I managed to get it running again before it completely cut off and, ended up getting towed home. I have yet to plug VCDS in but with no warning lights showing, not sure what I'll find. Ive rang SEAT just to check for any outstanding recalls on the car with no luck. Has anyone every ran into this problem before? Before this the car was running perfect, no symptoms what so ever. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as always.

Has an injector went down?
One goes down,it pulls the rest down causing a non start.

I'll plug VCDS in today to see if I can pull anything from it. The car still starts, haven't took it back off the drive yet in case it goes again.

Plugged in VCDS. Can't find any DTC's of the sort. Apparently this car went back to the garage in 2009 for loss of power. Would that fall under the injector recall our is it something totally unrelated?

Fuel filter is fine. Had a major service January. When I bought the car it got a cam belt service, so the next year I got a major service done just for piece of mind.

UPDATE: Has anyone else had an issue like this? Had it at the garage back in October couldn't fault it. Put 60 miles on it and it wouldn't do it again. Put it down to bad fuel and changed the fuel filter for piece of mind. Been solid until yesterday when it did it again. Just been serviced and MOT'd. Running solid till yesterday, still no lights.

Where the oil residue looks to be is beside the inlet manifold if I'm not mistaken? These are quite bad for the actuator not staying sealed properly and let's gases and oil residue out, but I'd think you'd see a lot more carbon and soot all over the bay. Could possibly be swirl flap failure? If they're jammed shut when you try to rev it, they won't open to allow enough air through and it'll just stall.

I've ran VCDS on it and pulled up the following DTC;

000801 engine speee sensor g28

However after clearing the code it hasn't returned. Is there an output test for the flaps I'm struggling to find much on them. Cars running back and fourth on the drive again. Just reluctant to take it on the road.

Further to that found the output test for the flaps. They still function as they stall the engine when tested.

Two days in a row on first startup the car is beeping 3 times. Could this be related?

I think you need to pull the inlet manifold off and check the condition of the swirlflaps, they maybe showing up a function but my FR had similar oil weepage, I ignored it like a fool and then a swirlflap was injested into the engine.
In there is probably caked in crud and it may need a clean out using carb cleaner or similar. You can blank off the swirl flaps and do an EGR bybass if it's bad....

Thanks is the inlet a chew to remove? My garage is full at the minute so stripping the car down is weather depending at the minute.

I think there was about 10 splined bolts and another 4 on the egr, I did mine in 2012 and nothing jumps out in my memory as being a mare when I did it.....just beware when you get in there it will like a jar of bovril **** itself, it's not a pretty thing to look into. You can get a manifold gasket and it would be worth having and changing while in there

Thanks I look forward to it, think I'll try and clear some space so I can work indoors on it.
