Hi, I have a 2007 1.9 TDI 1P that I would love to fit gas bonnet lifters too, as my last car had them and they are realy handy. Seen other people on the net that have had to weld bits to the bonnet which I'd rather not do. Done lots of searching on the web and found a part list from a Spanish site for the Supercopa. On page 68 it shows bonnet hinges with gas lifters, part numbers V4PL823301 left hinge, V4PL823302 right hinge and 1M5827550B for the gas struts. Does anyone know if these parts would do the job and if so are they available in the UK?
Cheers

Im interested in this aswel as it really annoys me that they never fitted them standard . My old cupra mk1 had them and a battery cover . Let us know if you go ahead with these as im sure loads of ppl will wanna do this

No because they still have to be welder to the bonnet and they are SEAT Sport part numbers and SEAT Sport only sell to companies who are registered with them ie Teams

So noone has done this "mod" . I have looked before and found nothing on it . Like i said before i carnt believe they never fitted them standard . Seat skimping out again !!!

Just done mine and wasn't expensive and very easy to do. Very happy nice little mod.
Thanks for the info was very helpful

I used the gas strut off an a3 3 door on an 02 plate from a breakers, the plates i made took me around 5 minutes to make at work then only a few minutes to fit. Will take some pictures and post soon.
I sure the gas strut measured around 525mm fully extended if this helps

To the back of 2 plates m8 nuts

Will do this tomorrow at work. We have loads of gas struts so I will price up the cost of doing it
