Hi All!

Having issues with my 2019 Seat Leon Cupra, it has ambient lighting in front door cards and in both digital dash and centre console, have noticed that once going into the background lighting settings there is a slider of about 14 different colour settings, ranging from red/yellow/green/blue/purple/pink (in that order) once sliding anywhere past green the colour in the door cards sticks onto green and slowly fades as it moves along the line.

The actual Infotainment & Centre Console both change but the door cards don't. I've had an auto electrician come and update software however still has not fixed it,

Has anybody had this issue before?

Did you set the 14 colours by any chance? As it does not come from the factory like this. Which means someone has had to set it at some point.

There are two sets of colour "maps" one for the infotainment and one for the physical LEDs, sounds like the LED Colour channels have not be set after the green channel.

For Example Colour no 1

these channels set the LED Values

IDE12412-ENG154733-LIN Ambient light color list-Rotwert_Farbe_1_lin
IDE12412-ENG154645-LIN Ambient light color list-Gruenwert_Farbe_1_lin
IDE12412-ENG154526-LIN Ambient light color list-Blauwert_Farbe_1_lin

These Channels set the Infotainment Values

IDE11714-ENG126825-Ambient light color list-Rotwert Farbe 1
IDE11714-ENG126826-Ambient light color list-Gruenwert Farbe 1
IDE11714-ENG126827-Ambient light color list-Blauwert Farbe 1

You would need VCDS or OBD11 or Carista to set these values correctly.

I didn't code it in myself as bought it from main dealer and assumed everything was stock, I do have carista however so I could turn off the sound actuators, how would I go about setting the remainder of the colours in Carista?

It doesn't have a direct coding section so not sure I'd be able to do it?

Haven't used carista so cant comment, however all the above channels lurk in the 5F Module, adaptions.

Buy Obdeleven with the Pro license or go down one of the VCDS avenues. Problem with the one click apps that you get. Obdeleven with the Pro license does give you coding and the one click type of apps as Carista but like Carista one click apps are a black box, if they go wrong you are at the mercy of it reversing correctly. Coding via the coding tools you have total control albeit what VAG grants in that form of customisation. I always say code, don't be tempted by one click apps, just marketing hype to sell a product that may or may not work and may or may not leave the coding of the car in a mess.

Ditto with the 2017 Ateca Xcellence with ambient lighting... well after I had the firmware updated the ambient lighting colours were keyed into the infotainment outline colours and FIS. Pick blue for the ambient lights in the door and the rest keys into that colour. Think that was a 2018 thing which tallies to the firmware I went up to (mib2 high 1338 release) then went onto the model range for mib2 kitted out cars with variable ambient lighting.

Think people toy with the ambient lights... rather they don't toy they change them to get a bigger palette on the door and on the infotainment outline to key in. The problem then is the FIS prior to the virtual cockpit can't support the colours with the wider range pallete. So the FIS doesn't match the infotainment outline colour or the doors or wherever the ambient light comes from. That came up on the Leon 3 software thread where people with older models were updating to the final release of the mib2 high firmware (1447) and found the issue of the mismatched colours in the three areas or two where they didnt have ambient lighting but had tinkered with the palette colours 😨. FIS colour not matching the infotainment colour since they had got too clever and customised the pallete beyond what FIS can resolve. Least that's what we decided with someone who was doing it on their sons car with a FIS display.
