I presume you own the car not a lease (not sure where you stand if you mod the car)
I have had it on my 280 for over 2 years and its defo worth it (and on my car safe). You need to tell your insurance company (it will cost you) and bear in mind it will affect your warranty if you claim on it for engine or drive train.
You should be advised to do oil changes more often (I was told every 5k instead of 10k) and as a minimum you should get some better rubber to help keep power down and air intake system.
Revo and APR both do reliable maps that give you great power across the range.
Are you also having the stage one DSG map as well as engine.

Yes it would be the idea to have the map too.
I have been reading into SEAT Warranty and it is very vague with regards voiding it due to that form of modification.
Have you ever had any issues?

No i have been very lucky with mine but to be fair I do make sure all the services are done, I warm oil up before using the power and cool it down on the way home just to give the old girl a fighting chance.
But have a read here http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=442464 bottom line as soon as the car goes in for a service at a garage connected to VW's systems the car will be marked as mapped.
Dealers don't get paid for warranty work if the car has been mapped so they wont do it and there are plenty of example on the net of people being refused, less on Seat but be warned its a risk, I was happy to take but it is a risk.

I can confirm the revo stage 1 map for your engine is wonderful and you have dsg which means you can have the full beans map. I have it on my estate Golf R and will soon be going stage 2.But and this is a big but - do you really want more than 300 hp going through the front wheels? The reviews I have seen suggest 300 is already pushing it.
Had revo stage 1 on previous R hatch and no problems either.
Perhaps a better option to start with is to go for a pedal box - presuming the cupra's accelerator pedal response is as crap as the R's. I have one and it gives the car a whole new lease of life.
I will be replacing our leased pug 208 gti sport with a manual Cupra 300 in Aug and will not be tuning it.
ETTO of course and some good points made above.
EDIT! OH WAIT THE ST DSG IS AWD. GO FOR IT WITH THE CAVEATS REFERRED TO IN ABOVE POSTS. Worth getting revo turbo pipe and elbow, revo panel filter and revo turbo res delete to start with too. Then the sky is the limit!
Haven't bothered with the dsg map yet. I also have serviced by highly reputable indy Vag specialist -still in warranty -well sort of! They also did the tuning.
If you have to go to a dealer for some work then tell them not to go near the OBD port. Or if they have to at least no new VW map please. I had a faulty inner window seal replaced, which has nothing to do with tuning. Window was making huge squeaking noise when opening/closing. No need to go near OBD for that.

I have had the Revo stage 1 map on for a year and 30 t.km with no issues what so ever. I change the engine oil for every 10 t.km, dsg oil for every 30 t.km and spark plugs for every 40 t.km..
I do not have a dsg map on it.
I can only testify that it is worth it - it transform the car..
In respect to the comment above, mine is a 290 fwd and it is pushing 382 bhp through the front wheels - having upgraded the dogbone grip is coming down to temperatures and rubber but the map is definitely worth it on fwd as well.
In respect of throttle response the Cupra is so much better than the R to begin with, but the combination of a powerflex dog bone mount and the Revo map is perfect..

^^^Plus one, I have had the stage one map for a couple years and run her on Shell V Power and its a great car.
you can code the throttle settings using VCDS or OBD11 but never found the need as it does what i need it to do.
IMO the car can handle up to stage 2 fine (with the correct hardware) but stage 3 is a step to far (500 bhp), this is how the car should have been built to start with and it give's the R a good run for its money. If you are after a 0 - 60 car dont go front wheel drive, If however you want mid to top range power its well worth it.
If you are planning track work the speed limiter is also removed.
