LEON ST FR 184 TDI - Oil Change

Hey guys,
Looking to service the LEON this weekend and I'm presuming the oil filter is a cartridge type with the plastic housing, can't see it after a very quick look under the bonnet though?

1. Anyone know the location, expected it to be at the front right of the engine accessed from above but it's not obvious?
2. Anyone know the correct tool size, 32, 36 or is the wider filter removal tool needed?

Filter is a pain to get to - need to get under the car

on the AE288 engine the oil filter access is from underneath. Back to faffing about with ramps and undertrays i'm afraid.

The PD diesels and the 1st gen CR's you could access from the top.

Cheers chaps, did the service at the weekend and as you say, it was accessed from the underneath exactly as in the Jetta video. Not a bad job actually, I invested in some filter sockets so having the right size helped a lot, as did draining through the 13mm on the bottom.

Yes the 1.4 FR is the same but not too much trouble as you say. The filter socket is a must though.
