Leon ST Style 2014 - Reverse camera installation

Hello! I have Seat Leon ST Style 2014, and I wonder if it is possible to install a reverse camera there so that it would work with the default media unit installed from the factory. The media unit is a version without navigation (P/N 5F0035824A), if that changes anything.
I've seen several vids of people showing the reverse camera in action, but there is not too much information about it.
Is there anyone familiar with the installation procedure? Maybe at least a checklist to go through and see if that camera can be installed into my car at all? And if it can, what devices should be bought, and how they should be wired to that media system?
Thanks!

There is a thread on here about that with pictures but it not for the faint heated as lots of work
It may be easier to have a look at the aftermarket ones

Hi again! From what I've researched, the reverse camera picture is displayed as the background overlay video for the OPS (Optical Parking System) that should be installed into the car.
Now the question is: now to install the OPS into the car?
Basically, AFAIU, this means several things to be done:
- It should be somehow determined if there is a physical possibility to do so (are there pins on the media unit to plug these sensors in)? Is the media system compatible with such device at all? And what should I look at to find that out?
- What OPS module should be bought in order to work with all that?
- Wiring
- 'Teaching' the media system to understand that it has the OPS installed (is that VCDS coding?).

Only after that, I can add a reverse camera and set its image as the backgroung for the OPS system.

Is that right?

No you don't need the Optical parking system installed to fit the camera and get it to display on the screen.

You do need vcds to tell the system a camera is now connected

it's not hard to fit the camera and wire it up, it's only 4 wires , two for the video signal and 2 for the 12 volt supply for the camera.

but it is time consuming, having to remove the bumper and all the trim to run the cables from the back of the car to the front

There is not a complete write up on how to do it, but there is enough info scattered around the forum to be able to fill in the gaps and see how to do it and several members have posted links to diagrams showing how to remove the bumper, trim etc
I seem to remember one of the towbar threads shows how to remove the rear bumper
Anyway hope that helps

Thanks, I'll read it. I tend to have both OPS and reverse camera installed. Anyways, if I will disassemble a car, and it's a hard job, thenwhy not to do both things at once, right?
I have several more questions as of now:
- should it be some specific camera supporting some standart/connection, ar any aftermarket device will fit?
- do I understand correctly that my media system already knows how to handle a reverse camera and OPS, and I just have to tell it via VCDS that these devices are are actually installed so that the system could make use of it?
- what is the function of the black box that goes with something like that: carsystems.pl/new-seat-leon-5f-park-pilot-front-and-rear-w-ops-5q0919294b,id1283.html ?
- are the electronic parts of vw golf mk7 and my seat are interchangeable? From what I've seen on retrofit sites, if they propose an installation of some electronics to seat, they do it for golf also...
- should I check anything on my side to see if it can fit my system at all?
Thanks!
