Hi Everyone

I am new to the forum and purchased a 130 TDI leon a few weeks back. It has been all good but just noticed over the weekend that it has developed a bit of a problem. When cruising along at 70 it is fine but when put under load past about 50 it hesitates and kicks out a bit too much smoke for my liking/more than it has been. I don't think its the turbo as it has only done 40k and still pulls strong after the hesitation/s. When driving home tonight I put it under load going up a hill.... from 50>70 and the engine light has come on.... I will need to get a VAGcom on it asap but was just wondering if anyone has suffered a similar fault.....

Thanks in advance

J

note: I have also noticed a hissing sound recently, so could this mean it is linked to a boost pipe being not on properly/split???

Cheers for the feedback... just had a quick look under the bonnet today and cant see any of the pipes popped off.... I know the common one is no.11 (turbo) on the diagram (Boost pipe blown off a Tdi Cupra :-( (forum thread) but do these pipes split easily as the only pipe I have not as yet looked at is no.4....??

not allowed to post images/urls yet!! arrgh..

Thanks

Just put VAGcom on the car and came up with the following fault code:

17964/P1556 - Charge Pressure Control: Negative Deviation

Possible Causes Boost Pressure too Low
Hoses/Pipes incorrect connected, disconnected or leaking
Charger Pressure Control defective
VNT (variable nozzle turbo): nozzles stuck
Solenoid Valve for Boost Pressure Control (N75) defective

Possible Solutions
Check Hoses/Pipes to/between Components
Check Solenoid Valve for Boost Pressure Control (N75)
Check / Clean / Replace Charge Pressure Control
Check / Clean mechanism for variable nozzles

Am about to jack the car up and have a look at the pipework to see if there are any leaks etc.... but failing this, what should I do next? Was thinking about changing the N75 valve? Cost?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
