Leon Wing Mirrors - Tear Drop or Straight?

Hi again,

I bought a pair of wing mirrors from a guy in UK. I finally got the time to swap, but there are some differences on the left side (my passangerside, your driverside). I got two plugs going to the mirror, but the one i bought from UK only got one.. Do anyone know what the second plug is? It got 4 pins, two of the wires go to a push-switch inbetween the triangle and mirror. On the switch it is written "burgess" if that gives any meaning to you (I don't know at all)..

Left: Speaker
Middle: Mirror, this one fit the plug on the tear drop mirror.
Right: The plug i don't know.

This is the back side of the switch from last pic. It clicks when you push it, so guessing it is some kind of spring-loaded push button..


Do anyone know what it is?

thats for the top speaker, I think, or the electric windows, I should know as I just was in beside those wires the other day

Yes, it's a Cupra, I think they got ekstra speakers (treble? I don't know what you call high-tone speakers, and google translate su**s.. We just call it "diskant") in the doors unlike a standard Leon... correct me if I'm wrong ;-)

The we tweeters at the top of the door, on our right side we have all our electric windows so it may be that switch, I feel like kicking myself as I was just in my doors.

It's a Cupra 4 TDI, similar to your profile picture. You can see mine in my album..

I see, but I got that switch on my left side, and it's beige. I have allready fitted teardrops on left side, no issues there.

Have you tried to fit the other side? What problems are you having when fitting it, and does everything work that you need working?

Yes, no problems there.. Only one plug for both teardrop and the old squared one.. That is why I was so supprised on the other side.. I thought this was just plug and play.. I does probably not do anyting, but I can not see the usage of this plug.. I don't know why it is there for my old mirror, but not on the teardrop..

Not sure mate, if you have everything working that you need to work, then don't worry about it, just tape it up.

Hmm, I don't know.. Folding works, adjusting works (both options, switched to left if will adjust both, and only right when you have the switch to rigth).. Have not tested heating, but it is not used so often...

They are a direct swap, between the 2 styles of mirrors.

You can buy uk mirrors and then just buy the angled lens if required.

It is a direct swap, but I guess it is a slightly difference between mirrors from RHD and LHD since the lences is not in center of the mirror when I have adjusted them. I does not bother me, so it is not a problem.. I should probably have thought that through since I sit on the "right" side when I'm driving

Been looking for ages for a drivers side Leon Teardrop electric. Keep finding passenger side (do the crashes all happen on the drivers side ) and manual.

Tried to ask in our sale and wanted section but the thread doesn't get past the Mods. Although some Parts Wanted are there.

If anyone spies one around, or has one to sell let me
