Hi guys,

Just thought I'd pre-warn some of you that you may/may not be receiving a letter from SEAT wanting them to check any Ibiza or Cordoba with Side and head airbag equipment, regarding a modification of the wiring to the airbag control unit. My car is on a 56 plate

It says:

The pin assignment may be interchanged in the wiring connector to the airbag control unit. This could lead to the activation of the side airbag on the opposite side of the vechicle to that intended.

My car is a 56 plate

cheers

dave

Thanks for the heads up mate.
Any idea which reg numbers this refers to?
I've got an 06 FR TDi but no letter yet.

Regards Guy.

i see that fault is logged on the fabia tho.... on that vosa site....

Sometimes its up to the supplying dealer to issue recalls, it just depends on the severity of it.

This one is pretty serious and I'd expect it to be on recall soon.

Thats nice then, someone slams into the drivers door and your passenger gets mashed by the air bag on the other side. Nice one!

That must have been designed by the same c@ck who rated the TDI Cupra clutch, the front headlights and sized the rear brakes.

07 cupra, had my letter & was sorted today, 2 & a half hours to change a connector FFS very glad it was a recall and free!
maybee thay still have beer in the drinks machines in spanish factories?

I Had the letter the other day. Took my 06 fr tdi to seat they checked it over but said no problem with mine.

If your chassis number has 6LZ4R in it, you should have a look at that list!

Somehow, my 04 car has 6LZ5R in the chassis so I'm OK :D
