Light Mod.

I was tempted to to do this mod, but I have a facelift cupra r so the roof lining is dark... anybody know if there is a part number for a dark one? also by w8 does the guy mean s8?

it is known as the W8 light, not sure why! unfortunately they don't do a black one; i've searched before. You could get the beige one a spray it; i think unclefester has done this, but not 100% it was him

Ive got one at home sprayed and took it out after i fitted it as the spary made it looked a bit sh1t IMHO. Tried to put some marks in so you could see the icons on the light but that looked even worse!

Ah damn it thats a real shame. wish there were some more that were dark that fit.

Well you could send it to be coated (plastic coated not painted) then it would look OEM but maybe a bit expensive?

Sprayed two now, fairly easy. pull front cover off light unit, few clips to push off it pops,light sand with 1200 wet and dry to key it then couple of light coats with halfords satin black, wet and dry sand in between! For the buttons I used a file liner indelible black marker pen, it seems to dye the grey paint. Its called a W8 light cos it was originally fitted to the Passat W8!
