Lightened pulleys on an LCR Yay or Nay?

With the impending cambelt change coming up, I was thinking of swapping the pulleys for the lightened variety!

Has anyone had any problems with these, and are they universal for all 1.8t engines?

Definate NO - the crank pulley is a harmonic balancer, remove it for a lightweight pulley and kiss your engine goodbye!

I have had a search for lightened pulleys and only came across one incident on a race engine after 50 laps, which could be debabtable to blame it on the dampner.

There are a fair few other engines around that have the dampner removed and run fine, if it is a idiosyncracy of the 1.8t fine?
