Hi all

Wondering if its possible to make the car turn the lights off when you pull the key out (as the stereo does) or it could have a warning buzzer?

I've left the lights on twice in a year long enough to need recovery :(

Any help appreciated!

It's possible but more auto electrician stuff, a fair bit of wiring an relays involved.
Would basically have to run the wiring to the switch into the ignition wiring instead, it's a good idea actually, let me know if you do anything about it
Only downside is you wouldn't be able to turn lights off when ignition is on? Sure there may be a way around it tho

I thought that if you remove the key with the lights on the warning buzzer should sound? If not it might be the first sign of the micro switch in the door lock playing up.

i never got a warning buzzer but found it was a dash fault with the six dial clocks.. should get a buzzer for leaving lights on or indicator stalk on..

Yup, should beep when keys out and side or headlights on!

what dials do you have. is it six or four. with my old six dials i got no warning lamps or sounds at all.. you should get a warning sound for lights left on, indicator left on and low fuel and water. the fault was the solder on that back of the dials that had gone beyond repair..if you have the old six dials then start looking for people that can code in new dials and then buy some nice looking FR dials of the bay of E. coding them in should cost no more than £60 at most. but some on here might do it for less if close by.

I'll check when I get home. My car is a 2002 and I think its 4 dial. PD130 TDI
