Hello,

Last saturday I removed my bumper and installed it again, and as some of you know, removing bumper causes an error to appears on dash. When installing the bumper the light disappeared
Today starting the car the light appeared again, went outside and everyhting was working OK.

My question is, does a light on the dash appear from times to times after the problem is solved if you don't clear it with vcds?

A scan showed this, as you can see fault frequency is 1 wich means it only happened once? last saturday? Why the light appeared today?

03428 - Activation of Left Adaptive Light
011 - Open Circuit - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00101011
Fault Priority: 3
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset counter: 205
Mileage: 126679 km
Time Indication: 0

03429 - Activation of Right Adaptive Light
011 - Open Circuit - Intermittent
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 00101011
Fault Priority: 3
Fault Frequency: 1
Reset counter: 205
Mileage: 126679 km

Thank you!

One thing, if you have now cleared these stored faults using VCDS, did they remain cleared? If so I'd expect that all is now okay.

Yes it remained clear.
The thing is I didn't clear it last saturday it was all ok untill this afternoon where the light on the dash appeared... and went away after restarting the car. After that I cleared the errors and they didn't came back at least for now...

I have to go there again, I just remembered I rotated this thing by accident while removing the bumper:

Will do this:

That warning is meant to indicate a bulb failure. When it comes on the user replaces the failed lamp and the typical user does not have access to VCDS so I'd not expect you have to clear the fault log.

You should be correct there, but I think that I was trying the cover the possibility that there was still a wiring/connection problem, as the stored faults cleared and stayed cleared there obviously was not.

So, if this happens when bulb fails, ie goes open circuit, why, after the leads were plugged back in does it store this fault and cause a warning light to come on? Plugging the leads back in (to a working bulb) is the same as replacing a failed bulb as far as the car is concerned.

Well the error didn't return until now, but it could be intermittent so it doesn't mean it won't appear in the future.

Meanwhile I removed the terminals and installed them again to discard a bad connection, and cleared the errors that appeared doing that, and stayed clear as it was before doing this.

Maybe I forced the wires removing the bumper, if it appears again I will replace the terminal.
