Limp home mode

Recently purchased (private sale) Cordoba Vario with 1.9 TDi engine 2001. The car has gone into limp home mode and the glow plug light flashing. No other warning lights on. No acceleration Car just sits at 1100rpm.

hate to say it, but have you tried turning off and back on again??

worked with mine

if not, do a bit of SEARCHing, your see its common!!

Thanks for replying. Yes, tried this but no joy. Got mobile mechanic ( I live in the sticks) to diagnose and he found it was a faulty throttle position sensor. £190 + vat for part. Ouch. On the plus side, as i need a car for work the mechanic kindly offered to lend me his. Turned out to be a VW Corrado VR6. Very nice.

Sorted! Cheers jim-bob. Took ecu out and cleaned the guts of it. Absolutely saturated due to missing wiper arm seal. Anyone know where i can get another seal?
