Lock/Unlock horn chirp

Plugged in my vag-com today and stumbled upon this:

Under module 46 (Cent Conv) there seems to be a setting where when you press the lock/unlock button on the remote key the horns chirps to tell you that the doors are locked/unlocked. I enabled it by changing the 0 to a 1. feeble horn noise though but it works, while doing this i also noticed that my interior monitor (ultrasonics) were switched off, probably sisnce i bought it..

Ooooh, I found exactly the same today - my interior sensors are switched off and presumably have been for the last 2.5 yrs

Did you enable yours via VAG-COM and if so did you test them to make sure that
they were working OK ?

note the reason it is turned off is due to nuisance laws it is classified illegal

mind you they can't raid a 5yr dope house after a local petition so you n your horn aint in danger :lmao:

Only in Germany iirc, On our VAS 5051 diag equipment it flashes up a warning about legalities when you try and activate it..lol

Can you please give me some more info on checking this horn feature, and the ultrasonic feature.

I have a 2001 leon, and have just got vagcom, can you explain what to look at once i enter the module.

Mine doesnt seem to give any info as to what each setting does.

i think most people turn off the ultrasonic thing if they have kids/dogs etc,i know i did cos every time i pop into the shop,and the kids moved it set it off,and i didn't fancy leaving the keys in the ignition.

im sure my neighbours would be chuffed if mine tooted when i lock my doors at 3am

Right for all those who keep asking me.... some tips here on Vag-com and personalising your alarm etc.

Select module 46
Then click on 10-Adaptation
You will then see channel number with 00 in it, click on up until 03 is displayed.
03 is Auto lock feature (locks doors over 15kph) change new value display from 0 to 1. Change back to 0 to disable this feature.

Here is a list of the other features you can chage:

03 Auto Lock
04 Auto Unlock (keep 03 and 04 either both 0 or both 1)
05 Inerior monitor (mine was off as default, arghh)
06 Unlock chirp
07 Lock chirp
08 Unlock indicator flash
09 Lock indicator flash
10 Alarm siren tone ( can be changed to UK, Asia, Germany, Other by entering 0,1,2 or 3)

Out of interest, where did you get this info from?

I know how to use VAGCOM, but I have no idea what half of the values actually are, and I don't fancy experimenting!

Am I correct in thinking that the 04 Auto Unlock is when you remove the key from the ignition and the doors are then Unlocked?

Or is it something else?

Just try it, if it dont work but the original values back in....EASY!!!
