Went to go on a dawn raid to the shops this morning, and thought I'd better fill up as I was on the reserve. Got to the garage, popped the fuel filler and... nothing. Tried again. Still nothing. Started to worry. Pressed it dementedly for about 5 mins. Still nothing.
I don't live that far away from a dealer so I popped in on the off chance, and to be fair they were very helpful, so thank you JCT 600. They diagnosed a faulty solenoid that controls the flap, which is why nothing happened when I pressed the fuel flap button. They dismantled it so I can now get at the cap in the meantime.
Has anyone else ever had this happen? Seems like a rare one, and if I'd gone to fill up tomorrow instead of this morning I really would have been stuffed like a turkey.
