Locking wheelnut key

Hi,my daughter has lost her wheel nut key and the Seat dealer say it is not a seat but an audi key and that some Ibiza's came with them from new, anyone know anything about this. also can I find out from Seat the key number from when the car was new, cheers

Well, I have a 2011 Audi and a late 2009 Seat and they both use the same model of security bolts. So whatever is fitted to that car, a useful Seat/Audi dealer would use their master set of security bolt keys and read off what the code of the correct one is, and then you could get their parts department to order a replacement key in. Then, read the code off it and store it with the car's documents - well that is what I tend to do to avoid this situation.

A good dealer has a set of about 30 keys. One of them should fit yours. In reality there are probably only about 30 variations on the shape of the key. The one that fits will have a part number stamped on it so you can order one.

Good advice Nath.Has she actually lost or misplaced it or is it still in the boot.?,check in the bootwell first though and where it is meant to be stored in the boot [should be obvious that] if so sorry.
