"Long" Break Pedal

Gents,
The breaks on my 1997 Cupra 8V have developed excesive travel. Pedal still firm and pulls up square, any ideas?

no idea but a bump and an interested in the response

mine are the same in terms of the brakes are fine but you need to apply the brake quite a lot beforethey kick in and my parents reckon the brakes are knackered but they are just as you described

Could be your master cylinder or the seals are on the way out, or you could have a small hole in one of the brake lines, when did you last have a fluid or disk and pad change ??
