For the impact your car had the least it should have had was 1 wheel 1 tyre new rear subframe, anti roll bar 3 suspension arms brake hose handbrake cable.
Checked on a car bench etc.
For the things I've listed would be £1500 easy plus labour
People buy these and repair them with second hand parts which I don't agree with.

second hand parts beat cheap tac non genuine crap. i repair accident damaged vehicles. and anything they need they get. thats the perks of having everything you need to hand. its the insurance companies repairing them that bodge them up. they put quotes in for genuine parts then buy pattern parts or tubs of filler. rather repair my own 
Maybe you repair them properly but lots of others don't.
A car that age should have been repaired with genuine new parts.
As for insurance companies I've worked in the motor trade for nearly 20 years with a body shop doing insurance repairs and apart from the odd pattern body part all mechanical parts replaced by us are genuine parts and done by the book no corners cut.
Everyone has a different opinion on this but the bottom line is the people who do it on the cheap without the knowledge or experience using used parts ruin it for the good people.
Cupra R suspension parts are different from a standard Leon so what's the chances of all the parts being the proper spec for the car?

Apart from springs,dampers and the size of disc, what's the difference in an R rear beam and say an FR rear beam?
£700 + airbags does seem fairly cheap doesn't it! considering your insurer payed out for your car, i thought they only did that if the repair costs were higher than the vehicle was worth?

Because even when I change my car and i remove my head unit, mudflaps, fogs, speakers, sub, etc, the next owner will have no idea that was ever in, and as far as they're concerned it's never been messed with other than alloys and window tints!

Well according to Seat parts nothing but I recently ordered rear shocks bump stops and a suspension arm from a Seat dealer all of which came wrong. I had to get the part numbers from the parts on the car which I was told was only for 2012 Leon onwards.
All original parts they sent were thinner and smaller bushed.

i understand what your saying as i wouldn't but a damaged repaired car only a damaged. i have repaired a few 4 motion tdi's and 2.0l tfsi's that have had suspension damaged and have been a nightmare to get right but when they have been 4 wheel aligned they drive straight as an arrow. you only have to say boo to a leon and the airbags are out. thats one of the main reasons they are written off like the guy says just needs airbags now. the steering wheel airbag is 500 + vat alone thats without your dash pas airbag seatbelts etc well over £2000 new. you would have to be mad to buy them new.
There you go then, even the stealers could have fitted lower spec parts?

I also found out that they lied to me about it's history. They told me it was one of their demonstrators and in fact they bought it at aucton, repaired it and sold it on. It wasn't until I took it to a bodyshop for some mods to be done that they spotted it and pointed it out to me.

Me neither - thats why it went to VW for the repair estimate. Somebody will want it though...

Surely your old R will be on the register with it being a total loss!
So whoever buys it will know.
If you buy a car on the register it would be good to see the pics of the damage showing if it was badly damaged and where.

Well I have his crash picture on my phone. And theres a wheel sat in the middle of the street and that cars sat on the rear axle looks pretty f=#k to me haha I love thats it be revived
