any1 know if it would be cheaper to swop my 1.4 for a diesel? im doing about 15k a year and averaging about 30mpg (maybe because of about 40kgs of weight in the boot) or due to my driving style aswell as... how much do u think i would get for my 1.4 and how much could i get a decent diesel for with some power and climate control?? as swindon seat garage are havin a 0% apr weekend with "decent" deals going on... and what are the sevice prices difference? any comments..

depends on how much you will lose on your current car, against the extra fuel saving against the extra cost of diesel etc.

My better half has just placed an order for a Ibiza 1.4Tdi on the 0% finance plan. She made the choice of diesel as she prefers the drive of them, as well as the possibilty of saving fuel.

well my parents had a 19Tdi beetle a year ago and was a good drive i liked it when i drove a mile or two lol power when i wanted it also costing less in fuel and i know they can last nearly forever and looked after right... i really wanted one when i got my 1.4 but i thought about it and coming from a 1.1 fiesta and been driving a year a 100bhp or 130 would be to much for me at the time so i whent with the 1.4.. just want some more power and not costing me too much more and i think diesel is the way to go..

If you go for the 100bhp it only has 5 speed, 130 has 6 speed, depends if you do motorways or A - Roads, better mpg on 6 speed on m-way.

Maybe its worth waiting for the new ibiza, and the insurance would come down as you would have another years NCB. Would it be hard work to transfer your sound system

Offtopic:

How have you set up your cars audio? Are the speakers running off amps or the headunit?

Lucky boy id go for the 130 or 160 then. Have you ever had your speakers running off just your headunit? Is there a big sound difference between them running off the amps or headunit.

Sorry about the audio questions, just trying to scope whether I should buy a amp for my system

you could go for a pd100 and remap it, they remap to more than a standard pd130 but the torque is lower

that could be a good thing as all that torque can cause clutch problems

i got a PD130, and power has really impressed me! :D

it'll impress even more next saturday when it gets remapped!
can't wait , the power / torque available at the mo is superb for over taking, another 40 - 50 bhp & 50 - 60 ft/lb's is going to be ace! :D

group 8 insuranve btw, and only £110 to tax it for the year! ;)
