I have flashed Android phones in the past but the amount of work to get there as a trade-off with the actual difference it makes and the possibility of bricking the device make me think no thanks.

A question related to swapping head units. On the mk2 leon pre face lift.

If I remove the original head unit, will I need the unlock code when refitting? (say if im selling the car in the future)
In all the books I got with the car I don't see any code. On older cars I know this was an issue

I swapped the battery on mine a few weeks back. Didn't ask me for a code when I reconnected it. So guess even back then they were coded to the cars.

I also took the battery out a few weeks ago and when put back in after 10 minutes it just worked.

I take it then a second hand unit from another seat would need pairing to my own car?
