Found a few that viewing this weekend.

From what I know

Leon cupra r 05plate

Mapped to 270, needs a t/belt tax and test.(couple months)
It's under 96k and has had new turbo last year, recent brakes all round and tyres

The downpipe needs looked at( could be expensive from what I know)

I know about coil packs, door seals, check for 3rd gear whine and rattle on start up.

The leon cupra. 52 plate

Under 90k needs tax t/belt has lcr bumper and wheels.

It's half the price of the lcr and only difference is £7 on insurance.

So timing belt I'm doing as a piece of mind.

Unsure what to go for. Had my head set on the r, but the cupra is Same colour and almost looks the same as of the bumper.

A little lost on what to do lol

If there's only a £7 difference on insurance and you can afford to buy the R mate do it. They might look the same but there's a big difference. Plus there's a lot more tuning potential with the R. Better brakes, seats, suspension etc etc.

Depends what you want. Personally I'd prefer a nice un-molested low mileage example.

I wouldn't touch a tuned car that destroyed its turbo before 100k for starters.

Tuned or standard if it's been looked after and modded and mapped properly it should be fine. Although I wanted a standard one when I brought mine so I could do the modding myself how I wanted it done.

WAsnt planning on doing very much as have a child on the way. Ideally just needed a car with 5 doors and a reasonable sized boot.

I've always wanted an r, but right now for an r it's all money, the leon cupra is almost half the price.

The leon cupra I'm looking at has lcr front bumper and wheels which dosnt help the situation.

If it had been normal bumper and starfish wheels I'd probably not bothered,

If your gonna leave it standard I'd get the R better brakes for starters worth having with a baby on board.
