Hi guys and girls,

New to the forum, I'm looking at buying a LCR this weekend just wanted your thoughts on it and it's price?

Forum won't allow me to post links yet but it's on Ebay, PH and autotrader for £6200.

Here's the add details for those who understandably cba to search for it:

For sale is my Seat Leon Cupra R in the best colour! The mileage has just turned over 50,000 miles, this is very low for this car and its a testament to me and the previous owners.

The car has full service history some Seat and the rest specialist, the cambelt and water pump were last changed on the 8/01/13 at 37931 miles the car has just done 50,000 miles.

All four wheels have not long been refurbished and look awesome. I can only be described as a bit of a Seat geek having owned 5 of these now but to improve on this car it comes with the following upgrades; Custom code stage one remap with print out. Badger5 larger turbo intake pipe with cone filter and heatshield. Audi s3 strut brace. superpro bushes. prosport coilovers.

Whiteline rear anti roll bar. wheel spacers front and rear. HID front lights. The car will be going back on to its original reg of KP55 WCR currently on R5 CUY (you will need that to check mot history and hpi). Both keys and complete book pack as well as a folder with receipts in.

It was never my intention to sell this car so soon, having owned it 6 months so far, but I have just bought a mk2 Leon Cupra with 26k in my favourite colour blue, I just couldn't say no! As you can see in the picture I also have an Ibiza Cupra! I cant keep all of them so the Leon has to go. 3 owners, Full service history,

Thanks in advance!

Also FYI it needs a oil and filter service, cambelt and water pump at some point soon (4 years since last) and rear discs and pads soon as advisory on last MOT.

Sounds too good to be true! Even with the discs and pads needing replacing, price is about right for the mileage. All the mods make it a great deal though, id change the water pump and timing belt on these engines unless they were done within a year just out of principle/peace of mind so thats not an issue at all. Looks like a good deal mate! Go and drive it, urban and motorway if you can, see how it handles both ends of the rev ranges

£6200 for a MK1 LCR seems like a lot of money. I appreciate it's been well looked after and has low mileage but it still seems too steep to me

Thanks for your opinion Richy, prices have been hard to gauge at least for me, clean later models with 70-75k with FSH seem to go for about £5k so I'm planning to offer a bit less than his asking price.

CG what would you pay for it?

mty as already stated I'm supposed to be going this weekend to buy it if all goes to plan, I pasted the advert details into my thread because I don't have 15 posts under my belt to be able to provide a link :)

I paid just shy of 6k 4 years ago for a 41k completely standard.

Personally i wouldn't spend more than 4.5k on one at this moment in time.

Its been well kept yes, and low mileage. BUT this car is now 12 years old, you are going to be putting money into the car regardless.

I understand the low mileage must be an eye catcher, but try looking for maybe a 65-75k one and you'll find alot of mods already on it and paying less.

Mine is now on 77k and if i were to sell it i would put it up for 3.5-4k.

Just something to think about! 6k is ALOT of money!

Hi Priz, thanks for your views, do you not think though that clean low mileage examples of these will go up or at least maintain their value? I've seen cars like the Golf VR6 and Audi S4 2.7 both cars I've owned, go up in value simply because decent ones are as rare as hens teeth now.

To give you an idea I just paid 4,600 for a 49700miles. Unmolested LCR.
Needs discs and pads. Otherwise great condition. He wanted 5,100.
What could not be seen on the day of purchase is that the front right quarter has been fixed after a crash.
Maybe the owner didn't know, it had 3 owners.
Nothing in the pile of receipts to say it had been in for crash damage.
Don't get me wrong. My car is superb and was fixed well but be vigilant.
6k would seem a little high. seeing as modifications rarely put the price up much on resales imo.

Hey Sparkie, thanks for your 2 cents, would you have paid more for you if it wasn't damaged?

I've made a preliminary offer of £5500 if nothing else needs doing to it and he has accepted it, but if your seller was asking £5100 for 49k miles  is yours a 2005?

I offered this because it needs £500 in maintenance doing to it this year at some point soon.

Was gonna say you can get a lot cheaper than the money being talked on here. And all the talk about how well it's been looked after then says pulls like a train! Also look out for mileage as it so easy to change on these cars. I can have mine set to zero for £25. Pointless but you get my point....be careful. Old MOT's should help but a car can do a lot of miles in 12 months then clocked back.

Hi. Yup 55 Plate.
I offered less as there was stuff to do. Bumper has to come off. Had a headlight with condensation. So expensive to replace.
Also. If the one you wanted needed brake pads and discs "it ain't cheep"
Especially if you want to upgrade slightly.
Just bought black diamond combi discs.
Bl:censored:y expensive. But it's the look I want too.
Good pads are the same.
Then if you're not mechanically handy you have to pay for fitting too. Although it's really not hard.
I'm having to beg a pal to do mine as I broke a rib 2 weeks ago and can't undo wheels etc.
Do the Brembos need refurbing? More time. = money
He was adamant he wouldn't budge off 4,900. I'd have paid 4,900 if it was mint.
After pointing out problems I told him he wasn't being realistic.
Started driving home and he called to get a deal done.
Should have knocked more off to be fair.
Hope some of that garbled info helps.
Good luck. Let us know.

Thanks Sparkie, it needs rear disks and pads which I can get brembos for £80 delivered and do myself so not a biggie. It's mainly the cambelt thats the big cost everything else i've asked about doesn't need doing. So now it's a matter of price really, and £5500 is too much now I've seen and heard about others
