Opened my bonnet tonight and my engine cover was completely off!?!
I cant work out how to put it back on. There dont seem to be any fasteners.
Any help much appreciated.
Cheers

save yourself the hassle and throw it away. Buy a cai. The rubber bungs can snap, the engine cover will knock against the fuel pump sensor, and break it. Happens to alot of people. Yours might have already started to break away.

SEAT voided a fellas warranty on this because it happened to him 6 times.

I have been told by a mate who works for VAG that modified cover clips are fitted now. I think they are metal instead of plastic. Can be done under warranty. Mine is the same and looking to get them changed soon.

i have the same issue. it has come off and keeps coming off. the dealer won't do anything apart from offer to order me one at my expense. when it moves it pulls the dipstick out so oil residue goes everywhere.

at one point it moved and slide down the engine slightly. this meant it was on the hot parts and it started to burn. i have taken it out for now, and will be taking it up with seat/other dealers. it could have easily set fire, good job i have a sensitive sense of smell and caught it early.

just to note, i also have the diesel.

The two part engine covers are a very poor fit, same as on the MK5 Golf etc.

Ill grab the part numbers for the new clips if I can find them on monday.
