All holes will lead to the turbine as its this that moves the air through it. If there was a route through without it then it would defeat the object of having the turbo.

Its possible that the socket went down the hole, but im still not certain that it did. It dropped below the top hole where the charge pipe connects so could`nt have gone down there, and the mani sat to close to the other entrance for a socket to enter:confused:

Thats why i asked about maybe the oil lines getting damaged?

Either way the turbines jammed up and i cant move it so it looks like the turbo has to come off anyway. Would it be cheaper to get it refurbed or try and find a 2nd hand one?

Im even considering going GT2x now as i was thinking about it anyway.

Would of not been cheaper to get a gt2x? do they not produce roughly the same power?

yes but k03 hybrid is an easyer fit plus it was done by turbo dynamics so if i have any problems there in the same country to deal with

the gt2x produces about 270bhp and the hybrid about 290bhp but probably also depends on the rollers mappers etc

If you are missing a socket and your turbine is stuck then theres only really one thing that can be wedged in there mate.

GT2x is not a straight swap intake/inlet wise and you need some extra bits. Also availability seems to be a problem atm. Either hybrid or another k03s I would say is your easiest option mate depending on what you want to spend.

I know for sure that im missing a socket, i just cant picture it going in either of the holes, like i said the gap between the manni and turbo would have been to tight maybe? and it certinatly didnt jump into the hole where the charge pipe connects.

either way ill be off to the garage on monday to chat to the bloke who i know pretty well. Suppose i should start the hunt for a new k03s.

Bang goes my plans for a custom map.

If the socket went into the exhaust side then it'll have jamed up the turbine which gets spun by the exhaust gasses... remove the turbo and check it before making any form of decision what-so-ever!!

backdraft do a new k03s for £399 plus vat might be worth considering if your low on cash

thats worth considering i suppose, im going to get the car into the garage next week and get the turbo checked out.

I have a k03 in the attic that i could get fitted. Ive been toying with the idea of getting a evo for the past 6 months, so it could be a option to get the k03 fitted and sell her on and get an evo before i have to be sensible and buy a house.

save yourself money take the k03s of yourself and do it defo dont get an evo you think the problems you get with a cupra are bad evo bout a 100X worse evo 6 breaks and disks £1000 service every 4k petrol cost. i was going to get one when i sold my focus rs but done my home work and decided to stay well away.

Thats the thing mate i know what the evo`s going to cost to run and i cn afford it while im still at home.

On the other hand the cupra`s been a great car in the 18months that i have had it and this is the first problem ive had and thats only been caused by myself.

To be honest after fitting the manni im not sure if i can be doing with removing the turbo, im retty sure im capable of doing it but im not sure if i can do with the agro of removing it then refitting it.

Benny... Before you remove the turbo, remove the down pipe and check to see that you can't manually remove it from the turbine, although my bet is that its stuck in the compressor.
Removing the turbo i would say is easier than replacing the manifold its pretty much of a much, You've just got the fluids to deal with.

Depends. If it was stuck from the v.begining then it may not have done any damage and you'll be ok. At the end of the day a used k03s is going to cost you all of £250 and then you are back to a perfectly good working car like you had before.

As i said before it did boost once to around 15psi and then after that it was at the position its in now. To be honest ive had abit of a think about it and im proberly going to source another k03s. I`ve been talking to phil and apprently he knows of one that i may be able to get on the cheap side.

Im not sure if im going to have a go and fit it myself and save some pennies, or just fork out and get the garage to do it.

Your not the only one mate, i drove it about 500 yards before i had no boost.

If you end up getting one dont forget to grind the top flange down ;)
