If i were to fit low comp pistons with uprated rods which were 8.5 - 1 for example, what would the effects be on the current setup i have apart from making the bottom end a little stronger?

bottom end physically stronger from uprated bits, but without mapping to suit your lost compression will drop your performance.
more ign advance and boost possible to the limit of knock being the reasoning on dropping CR a smidge.
Cool thanks for that, so on my current setup withut changing anything except bottom end i would lose power etc, but with another map could i expect more from my setup?
This is true, but after having another blast in it last night, i just couldn't bring myself to get rid of it, i have spent so much on it and iam not gonna get any of it back, so iam gonna try and go more power if my funds and WIFE will allow.
Probably about 4K or there abouts, alot of money i know, but i have down a route not many people have done, with good results iam glad too say,

Turns out the lad selling pistons and rods is keeping the rods and only selling pistons @ £250, dont just want pistons, would rather get rods i think
