low idle speed!!

My 2006 1.4 is idling very low, between 500 and 750 marks on the gauge, I think the last time I checked it on vcds it was 620rpms at idle. Usually a petrol would idle abot 800 or so. Can some please check a simlar car to see if there's is the same, but surely it won't be.
It does sound as if it is running very low and about to shut off but just holds at that same rpm.
If anyone knows a cause for this fire away and I'll check it out.

Hi Bud,
my 1.4 idles about the same and so does another lad i know
when mines on tick over it hardly sounds like its on...
