Willy, with those G/S reading you're producing circa 330bhp :). This is with water meth right? Presumably when INA/JBS released the manifold, the potential for more will there.

Thats without any wmi, but if i'm honest i don't expect to get anywhere near that if i can maintain 300 bhp i'll be happy. I think Bill mentioned before that he logged a hybrid around 260g/sec that didn't even make 300 bhp so its all a little speculative. I just use the airmass as a sign of improvement in my setup or a backward step. You just can't get enough air into the engine imho.
Rods, high flow mani, wmi, vvt software would be interesting though.;)

Log this afternoon, no reset, just MAF swap in the BMC CDA:

The car really drives alot "worse" with this MAF... not as fresh on the throttle etc.

Well you're the guinea pig as far as i'm concerned so i'll watch your build with interest :D.

Still waiting on Chris to get his flaming car on the RR with the VVT Attack! :p.

this is what im going to be running once get engine back but i have a slight overbore and also had head ported and polished, i am wanting 320 + just need a high flow mani and to see some results on the vvt map,

with regards to the filter i have used both and the bmc defo decreased power, i rate the jetex

As everyone here can see, I loose 10 g/s alone on the MAF.

As said before, it drives so much better, up/downshifts is more instant, where the other MAF is like its choking between the shifts... very strange!!

Normally I'm a real sucker for good log figures, but this MAF just feels better, so much I nearly says, "heck with the rest 10 g/s"... On the other hand... I want them back!!... LOL

What is the vote for smoothing the standard aribox and making a 80mm hole instead of the flat one with the rubber seal? and of cause using the pipercross filter.

I known the cross directional aerea is not the same, as the jetex is about 175cm x 540cm

I've tried it mate and its still ubber restrictive, a Jetex cone, direct pressurised cold air feed and a new maff is the only way to forward to get good performance c/w good airmass readings.

How is it possible to stabilize the cone? So it not shakes under driving.

Regarding the new maf, it could not make sense at the moment, if the one has logged 205 g/s, it might be OK, but restricted by the filters. ( Cant explain why it feels different though).

Btw. Do anyone know whether it is possible to get a BRAND new MAF end not just a remanufactured one?

BMC is one to avoid.. you seen the filter size in there? tiny.. no where near big enough

I saw a 15g/s improvement on an S3 when I removed the crappy BMC and fitted an 80mm Jetex cone earlier this year. Drove much better, response etc improved.. (same MAF)

I see you are a Revo dealer, what do you think of the °BTDC in the logs?

The car really drives alot "worse" with this MAF... not as fresh on the throttle etc.

Havent had the opportunity to get a Jetex jet, so decided to smooth the airbox and give it a 3" cold feed, starting behind the headlight.

VS.

Same MAF as above log.
Smooth airbox, pipercross foam panel og 3" cold feed, 3.th:

Yeah I have to try one out, but as it most are sold by UK dealer, it's "hard" to get quick.

This was the stock airfilter box with just pipercross

Code:
Marker	STAMP /min g/s	% °BTDC
2	1613,99	2640	51,69	58	24
	1614,57	2880	86,58	100	18
	1615,18	3280	153,72	100	3
	1615,73	3640	139,53	100	7,5
	1616,37	4080	160,42	100	8,3
	1617,02	4560	174,78	100	11,3
	1617,63	4920	186,5	100	9
	1618,34	5320	200,36	99,6	8,3
	1619,02	5720	197,81	100	9,8
	1619,65	6040	202,33	99,6	9,8
	1620,35	6360	204,28	100	9,8
	1620,91	6560	201,75	99,6	12,8

So in my oppinion, the 3" cold feed and the work by making it smoother, is not really worth it.

How did you manage to hold the filter tight, to avoid it from shaking??
I put a coupler on it and extended it tight into the wing where it sits snug against the original loop support bracket. A large cable tie sticky mount base secures it to the loop and it all feels nice and secure.

Found this on the web, is this yours?
