lower strut brace

fittin a OMP lower strut brace on my MK3 cupra and at high revs it seems to be knockin some where has any1 had this issue?

Are you using a mk2 golf brace?

If its the straight one then it will be making contact with the gearbox

ive had it on a couple of years if not more and in no way does the gear box hit this at all

yer thats the one i got! At high revs it seems to knock! Wonder why it wld knock on mine n not on urs

Check your engine and gearbox mounts !

ill check the mounts in a bit! If its mounts isn thatba big job? It wouldn be any think else cos its only happened when i fitted brace

if its knocking its because the gbox is hitting it... aka engine movement

Others may not have had a problem but i fitted mine and it was touching the gearbox once bolted up

so wheres best place to get some new mounts n at what cost? its only hittin at high revs so must be movement in engine/gearbox

Has anyone seen the 4 point ones? Would they fit?

I'm thinking of getting one of these, and I already have good engine mounts so I should be fine. Looking at the link above, the pic looks like the bar is not on center of the end mounts, could it be people have fitted the bar in the upper position and that why it knocks more than others who have fitted it with the bar down? Just a thought.
