Lowered cupra r's, how low you gone...?

AmD fitted my coilovers few weeks ago and i would def to top mounts whilst its all apart. dropped it 25mm looks loads better but sump guard catches on bumps etc.

its about driving handling and comfort against full on looks and style

i installed a dieselgeek skid plate on mine this morning, really good that it protects the sump etc. BUT, it scuffs on everything, like small pepples, ants and dust....

personally i didnt do my top mounts. i looked at them and they seemed fine (they were fine before too) if youre fitting coilovers then you dont have to worry too much anyway as they come off so easily you could have some new mounts fitted in an hour.

Not meaning to thread hijack, but...

Thats how low my sump guard is to the floor (camera was sitting on the floor):

But it doesn't look particulary low over the wheels:

Want to get it lower, but i think if it goes any lower it will jus be dragging allong the floor almost constantly, was thinking maybe putting some knee sliders on it to reduce friction lol?

On the plus side i know the sump guard works, got a mcdonalds cup stuck under yesterday lol

why would u need to do the top mounts?

does it make a difference fitting a strut brace, or whatever the one is that goes under the bonnet, accress the engine

its just advisable really, they're torqued onto the top of the struts so obviously when they're removed and torqued down again it wont do them the world of good.

They're only a cheap part (30 quidish i paid for mine) and saves you changing them a few weeks later after you've been abusing the suspension driving like a d*ck with your new lowness lol

Yes I run on FK Highsports. I keep meaning to look into spacers, would the 15mm ones be too much though?

If its any use i run 15mm eibach spacers on my LCR with coilovers and putting the spacers on the rear axle made a massive difference to stability under braking and also it feels like you can push it harder when cornering.Rear end feels well planted.Makes rear end look better too.Recomend a set,for what they cost they are a good mod.

You just got a set of 15mm on the rear chap, nothing on the fronts?

No mate,just rear as this felt like it wasnt very stable,rear track on LCR is narrower on back for some reason,but it definately made a big difference to stability,miles better,as soon as i had fitted them i took it out for a blast and noticed a difference straight away.Dont know if fitting front would be as noticable as front end felt ok to start with,i found the problem was the rear.

where did you get your "skid plate" from?? and ehre does it bolt to at the rear??

it bolts to the subrame (where the dogbone mount goes) and has feet that bolt up to the subframe either side at the front
