The Eibach Sportlines are a very popular choice and give a great stance but it all depends what you want from the kit and also what drop your after?

I'd say go for the Eibach Pro spring but to be honest you'd be fine with 18's and the Sportlines.

18s are fine with the sportlines.... i have 19s and they run with no rubbing at all.

So I have a TDI FR MK2 with the standard 18" alloys what would be best for me 30mm, 45mm, or 50mm to drop the car lower for me? I will be driving over speed bumps every day so would not want to take my front bumper off or any other parts.
How easy are these to fit and how do you do them? Or better to get a garage to do it?

unless u have speed bumps which are like 2 foot tall then there is no chance of u taking off a bumper.
i am on 50mm eibach sportlines, with the aero kit and no scraping.

So you recommend 50mm drop then? I just got the standard FR kit. Are they easy to fit or will a garage do them in like a hour or something?

With either Spring kit, your standard Shocks are going to be 30 (for Pro Kit) or 40+ (Sportlines) mm more compressed!
So if you have to drive over speed bumps, at any speed, as you drive over, the suspension might bottom out and your Shock will hit the end of its travel. Over time this is how the seals in the shocks perish and start leaking.
So, you either drive over speed bumps VERY slowly, or 6 months down the line upgrade your standard Shocks too when they start leaking!
I'm also in this dilemma, Pro kit or Sportlines, and am more tempted by the Sportlines....
If Im going to lower the car, I want it done properly (not half way). So I've come to accept that having to replace the Shocks too in the (near) future might also become necessary!!

(Unfortunately) a decent set of Shocks, will cost you a good deal more than what it costs to purchase a set of Eibach springs + fitting!
Looking at around £350 - 400+ (I was quoted for a well suited Shock package).This was my argument (well not really an argument, but you know what I mean
) before, when I was saying the cost of buying uprated springs and shocks (when the factory ones start leaking), almost works out similar to a COMPLETE Coilover Kit - which will give you a far superior ride and suspension options (adjustable ride height and rebound).But then, not everyone wants to splash out £600+ in one go, for a Coilover kit.
Also, if you can fit the Kit yourself, then this can reduce the total cost a good bit.
Also others here will say a Coilover kit is overkill for a car you will only use on the road, and not a race track.
