hey,
i am finnally getin round to lowering my mk4 1.4 16v, and i was thinkin of maybe dropping her by 50mm, but ive been told if your drop by anymore that 40 then you will need to change the shocks, is there any truth in this??

and how good to do you think it wud look if it was droped 35mm?

cheers...

Before fitting my coilovers I had 35mm springs on with standard shocks and it made a slight difference in ride height. The front looked better but the rear was more or less the same. Personally I would advise you to hang on to your spring fund and invest in a set of coilovers. Bigger drop, better handling and not as expensive as you may think. Have a look at venommotorsport and europerformance, they stock a nice selection.

If you're wanting to lower it 50mm then do both the springs and shocks. A 50mm drop will be too much for standard shocks.
