Lowering with new rims

I'm tempted to lower my SEAT as I have seen a lot of positive feedback about it but haven't got the faintest clue even where to start. I've heard people talking about spacers etc. but I have no idea what they mean. Can any1 explain to me all the parts i need to lower my SEAT ibiza 1.4 and by how much I should lower it? Also, the stupidest question of them all: what size are standard rims? i think they could be 16" but not sure and my current rims have a great set of tyres on them and how can the tyres be removed from m old rims? Sorry for the stupidity of this question to you more advanced mechanics.

There's been a thread posted today about lowering mate, try having a read or a search.

Spacers hel push the wheels out further from the main body of the car, helping the handling by widening the track of the car.

so many threads on this, the the post made earlier on today that i posted in basically lists all the stuff you need. also please pasce out your post to make it easier to read.

max you can lower is 120mm if you want to be decked/scrubbing and very impractical. + wear out your cv joints every 6 months.

for lowering you need, suspension or coilovers (DUH) and thats it.

lowering amount, well thats down to you, is normally just you in the car, or a front passanger, do you / will you be taking people in the back. do you carry stuff around in the car. These are all factors and limitations of how low you can go.
a full car of people will lower the car a fair bit so you dont want to car too low in the first place. but if it is just you in the car 99% of the time then slam it to the floor if you 'dig' that look.

spacer make the track of the car wider there for making it handle better. since the seat's are FWD the rear wheel track is shorter than the front wheel track, this give instability in hard breaking / cornering.
if you want to do spacer you also need extended wheel bolts.

about your wheels, depends on what they are mate, if they are cupra rims (like on my 1.4) then yes they are 16".
a good tyre place like protyre will remove the tyres and put them on the other set of wheels.
