Took the Mazda to work today, roof down fun on the way home - well goosed clutch meant only 2nd gear oppo

Great fun :)

Came home from the airport late last night, roof down, in the snow with snow falling. Awesome fun, but now the clutch is totally goosed after some exuberant sideways fun - slips in 2nd gear

So it's away now for the winter, after a hose down underneath once the cold snap goes & the winter jobs start

Chassis rails

Cambelt (maybe - but I'm not sure I'll bother!)

Well the nice weather is coming, so I'll tax it next week as well as giving it a tidy up followed by a dyno for my own curiosity.

Double digits this week, so practically summer now - no more chance of snow at home until the end of the year

Been out today in the Mazda for the first time.

Washed & waxed it this morning, and it's looking shiney

Anyway, took a video while I was out to see how it worked. Unfortunately the mic points to the screen so you don't hear the exhaust so much

The old girl goes OK given it's 22 in October!

Clutch is f*cked. totally. There's another video just uploading that was 10 mins prior where I dropped 2nd to 5th at 7500rpm & totalled the clutch.

That said, at the beginning of that one, the wheelspin was that - all over gravel etc

New clutch time then - i don't think anyone who hasn't driven an open topped car can really understand the fun involved ... doesn't really matter how fast you go either, it's just a nicer way to drive if you enjoy driving :)

Whoops :D I've done that in mine a couple of times, admittedly within the first two weeks - one of the downsides of driving more than one car i guess.

Mazdas gearchange is such a short throw it's very easy to miss it when you're used to sloppy VAG ( sorry about the euphemism) stuff.

Yesterday was an utterly gorgeous day for hacking about though, spring feels like it is finally here - time to take the tyre mortgage out again!
