M5 unbelievable

An M5 was in front of me on the way home from work today. We both overtook a car drivin slow and both "floored" it and my god did that thing go! pulled at least 5 car lenghts and the rest on my LCR in no time! Amazing.

boss at work has one looks like a normal 5 series till you notice the massive brakes and exhaust pipes, but saw one at pod and it got a 13.4 wich isnt hugely quick i didnt think, got beaten by a corsa which was funny. corsa did have huge turbo on it though

Thats an impressive Bimmer. Not sure Im keen on the turbines sitting that low though, a couple of stones could do some serious damage.
I dont think a remap would do any good against that sort of power, mates got a REVO'd LCR running about 265bhp and he gets dicked on my my other mates 205 Mi16 (tuned) reguarly!

on top gear jezza was saying it's an awful car [M5] - horrible sat nav women you can't turn off and all that, bloody silly computer you can't work out and takes ages to get what you want and even sounds like a diesel when starting the engine! and is something like only 400bhp........but press the magic button ["M" i think] all hell breaks loose - 500bhp of V10 screaming and a nice visual virtual speedo display...............bonkers!

of course i'd rather have an LCR with a BMC induction kit

its still a bmw and it still wont pull over.

very quick but ive still managed to beat the few who have played. doubt they were remapped though.

wonderful feeling knowing youve spent little on your car in comparision... and the looks of horror from the m5 drivers.

I cant outrun an M5 with the magic 500bhp button pressed. I would say I was a car maybe 1.5 cars quicker from 30-120mph as I gained on it but from there on your holding on for dear life if it had been delimited or remapped with some little choice mods it would have been pulling away. Shame it was limited as I went past when he ran out of revs.

I did manage to beat a GT3 RS Porsche the other day which was quite funny.

I seen this review on top gear, its so wrong. I think he made the car look worse than it is to empahise the 'M' button. I work for BMW and see M5's and 5series allthe time, and the problems he found with the sat nav and radio etc and a load of tripe...he was pressing the wrong buttons, it actually showed you him pressing them on the wheel. and the sat nav only comes on if you select it, andits just as easy to turn off. He really did make the car look like hard work.

But to correct you, i actually think he liked the car overall, e still refers to it now as a great car. prefers it to M6 awell.
