Main Beam Dashboard Light not working

Hi guys, bit of a strange one; my main beam dash light is not coming on with main beam anymore. It does come on from time to time, but never instantly, normally only after main beam has been on for a few minutes continuous. As it still works sometimes i'm thinking it can't be the bulb; dodgey connection maybe? Any ideas?

They are SMT leds not bulbs, sounds like a new/seconhand dash to me

Actually scratch that i know the red illumination are SMT i stand to be corrected

its the fact that it comes on after a couple of minutes that is strange.. if it is a second hand dash job; how does this affect the milage - i'm assuming this is stored on the ecu and the clocks do not effect it yes?

There are tools available to change the mileage on the clocks, vag tacho for one.

Might be a bulb, be an easy fix then, but I've never had my clocks out.

These are off a S3 i see no bulbs

SMT's (SMD's?) can be changed but it takes someone with a bit of soldering skills.

Yeah looks a good shout. Shouldn't be too bad price wise if you can remove your clocks and ship to him.

thing is; the LED still works from time to time...so it is not properly dead; just needs time to warm up - i'm hoping it is a bad earth; or the bad connection - i'll whip the clocks out tomorrow evening and have a look i guess!
