main beam stuck on

Hi,

Has anyone else had this problem? My main beam is stuck on and won't release back to normal headlights.
Is this the stalk that needs replacing or is it something more simple?
If it is the stalk anyone know how easy it is to replace?

Please help as i'm fed up of driving on side lights or having people flash me for being on main beam.

I dont have this problem but i have something similar, when i put my dipped headlights on, my main beam comes on and i have to switch it off. This happens everytime, weird eh?

Oh well, mk2 ibiza's................gotta love 'em!

Have you tried changing the bulbs? I know it sounds silly, but as first port of call that's what I'd do. The rear lights normally get that problem where the brake lights are permanently on due to crossed filaments in one of the bulbs.

Just take out the main beam bulbs till you get the stalk fixed.

does the main beam and the dipped beam not use the same bulb though, i my mk2 Golf certainly does, never changed the bulbs on the ibiza/
