Has any one had any issues with their clutch on a manual cupra? I’ve seen a few other threads on here but they were all for DSG’s.

Got in the car this morning and it felt like I was driving a different car, the bite point is completely different, the pedal feels a lot lighter and can some times feel like it sticks on the way back out.

The cars only done 5000 miles and I’ve driven it with care so i don’t see any reason for it to be worn out already.

Any leaks? What is the fluid level?
Seems like clutch bearing may be going down soon.

My cupra 280 had a new clutch under warranty at 7000 miles for the pedal slow returning back up. Weak springs on the clutch cover they said. Full clutch and flywheel were replaced.

Hi, and what is average mileage before clutch replacement? I drive aggressively, loving the turbo push:) and visiting the race circuit twice a year. How much € for the new clutch? Did anyone buy some stronger clutch kit?

Did you have any modifications on the car at the time?

This is weird..... the clutch seems to work for an entire day and then randomly start playing up again... any suggestions what could be making it so intermittent?

From what i have seen on this forum and Facebook the clutches are "LIKE CHOCOLATE", and to be clear this is across the VAG range not just Seat. As this is a new car I would be taking it back to the dealer and ask them to look at it.

There are certainly people on this forum who have had to have clutches replaced under warranty.

The word notchy is the one we are searching for here (well at least for the gearbox). Similar situation on my FR 180ps, appears to get better given time and use. Had it twice inspected at the dealer, said it’s not a prob for him. My exact words were “don’t make me regret getting a Seat”. Have it inspected at any case.

Notchy applies to the gearbox...
...slippy and sticky is how I would describe my former clutch.
Also, it was inconsistent, since the bite point seemed to change, and sometimes it worked perfectly fine.

On my cupra the biggest imrovements were removing the restriction in clutch line + I dropped the spring on the clutch pedal.
Anyway I woukd recommend to take it to the dealer as those clutches and dmf have a failure history on the forum

I have 2018 FR 1.8 and the clutch is awful had it in once and they said they replaced parts on the pedal, but feels worse now, going in again on Tuesday as it must be one of the clutch cylinders god know which one , but gonna insist that they bleed the clutch to start with. Just hope it's nothing worse like the clutch, bearing ☹️ Seat CS are saying 12 months on the clutch and 6 months on the bearing mine just over 12 months so see what happens. Knew should of went DSG

The car has gone in today and the health report came back with the clutch needs replacing and that they need to carry out some investigation into wether it was mechanical or wear & tear. The cost for them to carry out the investigation is £400 but if it is under warranty then that will be covered. Apparently there had been three others reported within the last two weeks
