Hi guys,

Been on the Forge website and saw this:

Just wanted to confirm if this tube is used to replace the pipe shown in the pic?
Forge sell a 60mm and 63mm tube. Does anyone know which one would fit my LCR?
Has anyone had any problems with it?

Thats for when you have a custom FMIC and you fit that inbetween one of the pipes using silicon joiners.

It wont replace that pipe in picture will it because its a different shape :)

Or are you just asking if its the one to use when you are using aftermarket intercooler with no MAP sensor fitting in the piping?

Is that shown in the picture?

The pipe you have arrow at is the MAP sensor tube and that bit on it with 2 screws is the MAP sensor.

Well if that pipe in the picture is plastic then I guess you could cut a chunk out of it and buy 2 silicon joiners and fit it in..........but its not a direct replacement is it as looking at the picture its clearly a different shape.

Its designed for people like me who are making there own FMIC kit and dont have the mounting point for the MAP sensor because its mounted to the old intrercooler.

Hope that makes more sense?

I was planning on changing my MAP pipe when i get a FMIC (a forge kit not custom)
I thought the existing pipe was meant to be quite restrictive?
I know due it not having the bend/kink some modding of brackets, etc will be required but not excessive amounts
I would also be interested to know the 60/63mm pros and cons

so basically you would need to get the silicon connectors to make up the correct shape for the product in question in order to replace it?

I was on about fitting it ito the straight part although if you were lucky enough to find some bends the right angle you could do as you said :)

I seriously doubt this would fit on a OE setup. I know because my fan cut a hole in my OE pipe and I had a boost leak. The car was at the mappers and I didn't have time to get a replacement and looked into the Forge item.
Needless to say it cost me about £170 for a new one with sensor from Seat [:@].

Does anyone know how much the sensors are new?. I still have my old working one here.

I wont be changing mine until i install a FMIC due to accessibility, but without original intercooler exit postion i think it could be made to fit quite easily
But what size do people go for, 60/63mm?? and why

How was it to fit Danny? no major work just grinding back some points it catches or big annoying job?

Easy enough, but I was fitting it at the same time as my diy fmic, so the car was in bits!! Mine caught on the fan to start with, but with some minor adjustments this was sorted. I've now relocated my battery to my boot so there is loads of room around it! My map sensor was rusted into the old housing, had to drill the bolts out, but was no biggy:)
