Mapping help needed!

Hi!
I have been looking around for someone to remap my 1.8T 20v Leon?

I have a custom made 4 equal branch manifold with a T34 Turbo ran via GReedy Electronic boost controller, Took the car santa pod at the weekend and ran a 14sec 1/4 mile, the only let down with the car is the original ecu mapping? I would like to find a ready made tuned map with more Fule to air ratio which I could flash with a KWP2000 Flasher, or even better find a tuner who can give me a real time mapping on a dyno road.

hi,

no help here im afraid mate, but I have a few questions about your car.

The T34 is a turbonetics hybrid turbo, right? I am interested in installing a big turbo in my car for drag racing, i'm willing to sacrifice a bit of drivability for full open acceleration.

How complicated is it to install? is it a simple mechanic's job to replace existing header, turbo, downpipe etc? are there any extra hoses or does the new turbo plug into the same N75/boost controller?

Also does the Greddy BC gove you limp mode? I had a MBC for a while ran up to 15 psi then limp mode.

What other mods should be done at the same time as the turbo? I expect new injectors and FPR but is there anything else I should look at (other that wider tyres :))

try jabba m8 i think they do a dyno road mapping about £500 quid tho m8

Custom Code will be able to help on the mapping side of things. There head office is based in Derbyshire. They offer true on the road mapping specific to your car and specification.

Thank you for the reply and information I will be ringing them tomorrow,

I did not mention the car has a external waste gate running a 6psi spring, and with the greddy PRofec B Spec 2 controller is will hold constant boost of 1bar, if the controller went down the car would limp home using the spring pressure only. Our company has designed and produced a custom system for the 1.8 20v, our main custom system are for the C20LET engines (calibra turbo) we have got them running 450BHP with omex management, but as my own car is a Leon I thought I would have a play, I will post some Dyno results up here once I have had a full remap.
other mods are fpr, so far set up with a wideband lamber sensor running spot on fuel to air ration.

The guy you want is Kirk Woodford call him on 07918608406,

The 450bhp c20let his his own engine fully custom built,

He could build you one the sam espect but would cost you ££££££s

or he could upgrade your current engine to 306bhp with t3 turbo 2.1 bore, waste gate, custom made manifold the a very competitive rate.

here is his spec from the migweb forums.


lets start with the turbo spec :-

stage iv T34 hybrid (T3 footprint)
GT40 compressor wheel .50 A/R
GT35R turbine wheel .83A/R
62lb min

next the exhaust :-

simply a sraight side exit RC development style if that means owt to ya from turbo to wing bottom in 3 foot

cooling :-

the rad has been moved to the rear due to lack of room cus of the large intercooler up front ,
the wheel well was cut out and scooped from the bottom to allow flow , obviously it needs a fan and with this the cars gonna get abit warm inside plus to get air to flow through the rad then it needs an exit hence the vent fans.

the engine was mapped a year ago running 28psi with a cossie inlet , at the time an accurate bhp figure was not obtained due to the fact that it pinned the rollers at 382whp.
also the turbo setup was different to how we have it now , it was a twin wastegated manifold running with a T04P turbo , unfortunatly it was removed due to the fact that the turbo actually ran real well on the rollers , but when you guys seen it apparantly misfire at the pod, it was infact compressor surge past 20psi boost which is why it only did a 13.3 but the teminal was 118mph., this was sold to cossvaux and im not sure but i think it went onto a tigra .
when this car won pv2002 it was still only modded vauxhall stuff ie turbo , inlet etc and was 330bhp at 22psi ,beyond that was an impossibility due to the greens being maxed and the turbo being bob ,LOL.
it ran a 13.005 @ 113mph

here is a quick rundown of how it is now

C20LET block 2088cc
ARP mains,rod,head bolts
uprated oil pump and relief valve
cometic head gasket
7:1 custom made forged pistons (not of the shelf)
reworked head with phosphur bronze guides
custom cams from blanks
stage iv T34 with external wastegate
custom inlet (not cossie)
3 inch throttle body
50mm dump valve
750cc low impedance injectors
2x sytec fuel pumps (252ltrs per hr)
6 gallon internal fuel cell
mocal oil/water heat exchanger
omex managment with full throttle gearchange/antilag etc etc

he can do the harware turbo upgrades for the seats aswell, but looking for a good mapper still

thanks a lot. Seems to be a little extreme for my needs, but is very interesting none the less.

One point that caught my attention was the 3 foot exhaust from the turbo. Obviously not for daily driving but how unbearable is it? I may go with that for my Leon when racing.
