mass air flow sensor

right earlier i broke down and found out to be this sensor so i unplugged it to drive home which was only a couple of miles away neways i got home and plugged it back in to find it running sweet again, my eml light is still on but the car is running fine i dont know what to do. Is it worth me gettin a new one considering its running fine, is it ok to drive you reckon?

Yer the Rac bloke had something like and out found out it was the sensor, will get my mate to vagcom it tommorow, but still dont understand why its fine now if it was causing me such a problem earlier.

If its on the way out and causing problems now then its worth changing now because no doubt it will do it again in the future...
