Massive jolt with error code

Driving along the other night but when my engine warmed up my car started to jolt as if i had been rapidly accelerating then taking my foot straight of the accelerator. It did this for 5 good minutes on and off then the engine management light came up.

Upon scanning it shows the error: p0216 Injector/Injection Timing Control Circuit.

Am i right in thinking this could be fuel pump related?

check no3 injector as these play up on the early tdi
