Looks nice and tidy.

The Bluetooth adapter thing, is that for your phone to be hands free as well? Or purely for the torque app. I'm looking to get Bluetooth set up in my car as it didn't come as standard :(

It's just the for the torque app. I do toy with the idea of getting a nice headunit with blue tooth hands free, but I'll just stick to shouting at the phone on loudspeaker in the cradle for now lol

Ahh ok have looked at them in the past and ruled out because of cost.. might have to reconsider though as it does look good!

Yeh the active holders are proper silly money! This is just a passive holder, but I have a lead for the lighter socket to charge my phone if I need to. The cheapest place I found was:
http://www.mountonus.com/
Worked out at just about £36 as they refunded my postage as they didn't actually have any in stock at the time or something. I justified the cost with that if I ever changed car or phone I only have to pay about half next time and also that it was similar to the cost of a boost gauge/pod :)

First wash of the year and a few trial fit pictures of the wheels...

Bit concerned when I first fitted them that the stud pattern wasn't right as the holes didn't see to match up, but soon realised it was the centre bore that was too big and it wasn't sitting central, so I'll have to get some spigot rings before fitting them properly.

The fronts are a lot closer to the caliper than I thought they'd be and only a finger gap to the shock so I'm probably going to get some 5mm spacers for the front. I left my 20mm spacers on the rear, not sure if this will poke a little to much if the tyres rub I'll just get some 15mm ones instead. Currently thinking of going for 205 wide tyres as the load and speed ratings tend to be lower on 195s and I read that the stretch will lower the ratings more...

Thanks!

Picked up some empty shotgun shells from a friend and whipped out the polish I got for my wheels:

Perfect fit over the wheel bolts :)

Going to cut them down a touch more so that they are flush with the face of the wheel, which should hopefully mean some pikey doesn't rob them quite so easily!

I'm going to source some of these style of locking wheel bolts:

so the shells should fit over them, as I will need some different ones for the 15mm spacers I plan to get for the rear anyway

still my favourite mk4 on here! what can i say though, i'm a sucker for a red car! :)

like the idea with the shells, i replaced my locking nuts on my mk4 with this style, much better quality.

Do you remember what make? there are quite a few that style.

I did consider heating up the shells to see if I could stretch them around the locking bolts but I couldn't find my heat gun today

I can't claim credit for the idea unfortunately, saw it on these sexy wheels in summer:

Been a while since I've updated this, progress hasn't been very fast as I've been busy moving out and furnishing my new flat. Anyway...

Flush plastic rear wiper blank, bargain at £10 from eBay imo:

Stripping paint from the RHs was taking too long. I was at a point of buying some better paint stripper and some paint, when I did a bit of man maths and worked out it would be cost effective for me to take them to a dirt cheap powder coating place.

Perfect fit for the boot:

A £20 per wheel refurb in sparkle silver later:

Picking up the other two this week, as one of them had a bit of a drip/clump at the edge of one of the bolt holes and the other had a 50p size patch that wasn't 100% smooth in the dish, slightly annoying but I was kind of expecting it for the price. The guys were sound about it though and were quick to offer to redo them after I pointed it out.

Got a few sample of stainless steel bolts from eBay and settled on these:

Just the small job of taping all 116 holes for them now lol

Few random shots to finish:

nice idea on the shells mate but as a hunter myself i believe it will look bad in a couple of weeks as these shells corrode so easily! :(

they will be full of rust asap :(

Final test fit, just need to get some tapered seat wheel bolts now before they can stay on :)
