Can anyone tell me what the most up-to-date map version is for a 2022 Arona Xcellence Lux (MIB3) please? On the Seat website (
https://www.seat.co.uk/owners/about-my-car/map-updates/arona-2021) it says "Current Map Database: July 2023 (P85) – version code 22.6" and "Next version coming in October 2023". This should be accurate but I'm not so sure!
The reason is my daughter is buying this vehicle and the Seat dealer has said it will update to the latest map version and I just want to check it's been done when she gets it.
Thanks in anticipation.
Breaks into two. Mib3 is designed for connect services so if you take out that contract you'll get the very latest Here Maps monthly update plus firmware updates, traffic reports and other stuff. Navigation updates come over the air via 4g for connect services, seamlessly without doing anything.
If you don't take out the contract that covers navigation then it's a lot like mib2 high on Vag cars. Seat never gave away free mapcare on mib2 highs. You had to make
coding changes to the unit. Hacks or pay a license. Skoda and VW were free. Audi wasn't. Mib3, Seat / Cupra fell into line and it became free. The catch being twice yearly updates that run about a year behind the paid ones. The map files for mib3 are interchangeable between brands but the website are slow about putting these up on their sites. June and November is the customary months but these get sniffed out ahead in some cases. The community finds these files before they get a website wrapper and they get published since for Seat / Cupra they are pretty hopeless at this.
I got a thread going where I'm publishing the latest and
how to do it. Similar to the mib2 high it's quite fussy about file presentation and computer used. It's all covered in this thread :
The topic is applicable to all Seat models, VW and Škoda with MIB3 (basically all vehicles from 2020 with an infotainment system with built-in satnav worldwide). Where the connect service has elapsed or not taken out or a decision has been made to update the maps offline. Many users prefer...

The choice is whether you cough up for connect services for the ease or do it via downloads as above.
Firmware adjustment is different to navigation these seem fraught where people attempt to do their own firmware updates which are normally done via the dealer networks for free when there is a good reason to do it.
Problem with user firmware updates, the assorted systems in these cars are interconnected so if you update one part, you may need to update another part. Dealers know about this and if you have coughed up for connect services the car should only do updates that it can do. The MQB Evo platform which the Arona isn't on tends to be more tricky. Leon 4 and
Formentor is on that. Mib3 got installed from 2020 on all Seat / Cupra models.
Lastly, no we haven't seen the June 2025 mib3 updates yet. But we have seen the mib2 standards ones that I've linked too on threads. No sign of the mib2 high ones yet.
