Middle of tyres going bald???

Hi. Sorry if this has already been covered. I have a 03 Leon Cupra and have covered just over 20,000 miles in her. To my horror i discovered that both my front tyres has become bald in the middle. Now i know that if the tyres are over inflated this would cause this problem but they were just under. Can anyone shed any light on this or tell me if they have had the same problem??? Have just put a new set on the front this week so don't want a repeat performance. Cheers

It has Bridgestone Potenza's. Have you had the same problems?

It's normal for the PZero Rosso's that come on LCR as standard, just wondered if the LC has the same tyres (but different size!)

but to your horror? did you forget your weekly checks

well worth checking your tyre pressure 'measurer' is correct though.

I must confess i don't check the pressures weekly, luckily i work for a high performance car specialist so hopefully there pressure gauge is spot on!! Thanks

20k from a set of fronts? Thats pretty impressive! I only got 10k for a set of 4 of those on my LC, I then had 10k per set of fronts out of Good year eagle F1's..

Oh looks like i have been lucky then i guess . I take it that it is normal for the middles of the tyres to wear out first then ???

I think there is an issue where some of the larger tyre carcasses 'expand' at speed... I think that was one theory anyway.
