Anyone used it recently / regularly?

I've stuck in a good capful this morning with a 25 litre refill (from VERY empty  )

Hope to see if it really makes much difference on Saturday when I'm on another rolling road for a run.

Not recently or regularly but I did use a bottle a couple of years back (standard PD130).

I **thought** the engine ran a bit smoother but the stopwatch on my private test road said no difference in performance.

When Diesel Car did their additive test a short while ago, Millers gave a small saving in fuel consumption (about 2% if I remember right), just enough to pay for itself.

However it's supposed to be a very good fuel system lubricity additive -- which can't be bad as you've got an extra 90bhp :D

I ran it for a while with BP Ultimate and it definately felt smoother with maybe a little more power, but nothing I can prove though.

I've used it, and also thought it made the engine a little quieter/smoother, couldn't say I noticed any difference in power though.

If it does pay for itself though, gotta be worth a try - as long as you can resist the temptation to "chuck a bit extra in for good measure" and use it up more quickly !

Been using it for three years now it ups the Cetane rating by 3 - 5 points I slightly overdose per tank, ideal if you use supermarket fuel. It still works out cheaper than Ultimer - at the moment.
bye the bye have you always had black smoke your is it recent?? had this problem with a remapped Rover 75 cdti - tracked down to MAF/timing - hope this helps

Only had severe black smoke since being remapped with the new engine. The old remapped pd100 didn't smoke all that much but then it was doing less work and getting 70bhp less. :D

Hoping that LPG sorts out the smoke, in the long run.

Just started using it and the engine is quieter and less smoky. Can't say I've noticed any real economy or performance benefits but I think it's more long term - the extra lubricity means cleaner engine = less deposits = no drop off in performance over time. My impression was that it's definately not like an Octane booster which gives a measurable boost in performance.

The Cetane uprate is not my comments it is from Millers Tech. Department - we were considering using it on our rail loco's, 8 tankers a week gets a bit costly!!

Well, done 100 miles today on A roads - carrying one other person and a load of boxes / old work related items, I still got 50mpg. Would usually have to work hard to get that mpg with just me and an empty car. Might be placebo, but economy appears pretty good at this stage. Shall continue putting a capful in every time until this bottle runs out, and keep monitoring how far my £20 gets me each time.

Well, not sure if Millers is to blame, but the rocket put out 223.4 bhp on a rolling road today. Couple of BHP up and a bit warmer than when I was first remapped.... Still. I'm very happy with the initial effect of using Millers Power Plus for diesels.

Bloody hell! What does 223.4bhp equal at the wheels? And what sort of torque figures are you seeing?

Well, they measured it at 203.1 ATW - but its more likely to be 190. Currently its about 50bhp at the wheels as I hit limp mode this morning and it won't reset....

Well now that my Passat is giving a very repeatable average of 45.4-45.6 mpg on the computer, I might run a tankful or two of Millers to see if it changes.

Jason - any idea what's causing to go into limp mode, it seems a bid odd that you can't reset it, suggests maybe a sensor has died completely. That PD doc Craig posted the other day lists the various sensors and the effects of failure. Vag-com should tell all though :)

Yep - Had the same as ColG a while back - pd130 boost sensor gone. Or as snap-on finder called it "Manifold pressure sensor" - At least that explains why it was intermittent before, and now its packed up totally. Comes back straight away even after clearing the ECU - Time for a new sensor. It was only 6 months old too, so not happy - I also can't find the receipt for it, which is annoying.

At least you know what it is, so it's a simple fix.

Back on the Miller's subject, just filled up the Passat last night and dosed it with Millers; I should know within a week or so whether it's improved my average or not.
