Mk 2 fr tdi starting problem

Has anyone had any starting problems with their mk2 fr tdi, i am currently not running my car every day but it does live in the garage, when i come to start it after 2 days or more the engine feels very tight and shakes the car violently on start up, there is no smoke and the oil levels are ok.

It is less than 2 years old with 19k on the clock

any ideas??

you could try charging the battery while it's standing and see if that improves things, there may be a small leakage to earth or something like a boot light still on

Thanks Nic, the battery has loads of power, its just this violent banging that seems to happen as it's turning over before it starts.

My 13O Sport is much like this after sitting for a while.
Tis the nature of the beast i think.I remember reading a report about the TDI 130 engine.It commented on how on start-up 'the car shudders,like there's a big V8 under the bonnet'!.
Goes like a big V8 as well!.
