did you take off the door handles to spray the doors and how??

Inside the door is a plastic grommet, inside is t20 screw, slowly unwind the screw and pull the small section of the door handle out and it will pull out, unhook the handle operation cable and unhook the door handle.

Done

Yes I took the doors and handles off, thanks for explaining also.

colour is my favourite blue at the moment close between this and the audi spriit blue on the rs4 - top work

Sprint blue is so played out in N.I at the minuite. Thanks!

For anyone wondering how the door handles work -

Tried these on tonight. Pictures don't do them justice tbh.

Polished my alloys today and should have them on Friday

I dont quite get it?

To go to all that trouble and it looks like a blue pre-facelift leon?

Why not smooth the bumpers?
De-rub strip it and fill the holes?
Maybe even get rid of arch indicators?

Just seems like it had soo much potential!

Maybe the colour in the picture isn't true to its real colour, and I think I read somewhere he was changing the front bumper anyway. I would of colour coded the strips though tbh

I do quite agree with this comment I would of gone all out if I was to spray my hole car an make it more unique.

But everyone to there own maybe he wanted more the street sleeper styling

A lot of work just to have to redo the bumpers when the time comes. And agree with above, would have removed at least the bump strips from the doors. Very nice colour though and those wheels look nice!

Il be putting a cupra R kit on at some stage. I thought about flushing the doors but I like the strips. The colour is Skoda VRS race blue.

I think it looks great, must keep an eye out for it!

Thanks. Hopefully il be at any big shows and cruises over the summer.

Thanks, my subframe was very close last night on the borbets. It hit the road 3 times @ 10mph on a decent road lol. Il be putting in hydro (hopefully) if not hydro il resort to bags.

Not really I'm a bodyman so all I have to buy is the paint. Thanks, the wheels are now off the car as my subframe was too close to the road.

1 coat of caranuba wax , will do for a few weeks until the lacquer is ready for a proper wax. Going for valentine road n track wax. Well pleased with the paint job, done it all by myself whilst in between other jobs, not bad for a 21 yr old? More reflection shots to come

The wheels, took allot of looking for the perfect alloys. I wanted 17" "classy" rims that nobody had on a vag, in NI everyone has "genuine replicas" as they say, so I wanted genuines. Staggered amg monoblocks 17x7 fronts and 17x8.5 rears. Il be fitting 205/40/17 tyres all round.

They were in a sorry state

Test fitted them, too wide and the bolts in the adapters didn't stick out enough for the nuts to catch, so I got them lathed.

Polished the lips before painting the centres incase I marked fresh paint. Put the car on axle stands, put it into 3rd. Started with p80 to take off the powder coating, then got s file and removed the kerb marks, then p80 to remove scores, then p180,320 then wet and dry p400,600,1000,1200,1500,2000. Then autosol and a scruff pad (wet) and then autosol and a dry scruff pad. Then a dry rag and autosol until they turn into s mirror finish. 29.7 miles covered @75mpg.

Car needs an airflow, one ordered and should be fitted tomorrow. Don't know wether to buy a interior or a roof rack and roof box next?

More pictures tomorrow :)

Fair enough, that polish/paint finish looks great! Get them on and get pics! :p

I'd say finish the outside before starting the inside, I keep changing between the two and it's taking me an age to get one or the other done.

Thanks, appreciate it. il have the tyres on tomorrow and them fitted. Also going to wind the coilovers down a few threads.

I'm thinking the same lol might just get a roof rack next week. The plan is a race blue roof box for shows.
